BMI View: The agriculture sector in Bangladesh employs close to 70% of the working population butcontributes to only 20% of the country''s GDP. Inefficiencies in farming methods ? a result of theexistence of small-scale farms ? continue to hold back the sector from enjoying considerable productivitygains.
