BMI View: Construction activity in Egypt continued to suffer throughout 2012, in line with ourexpectation, and we estimate that the industry contracted by around 6.0%. While the sector is likely to faceongoing challenges in the months ahead, we nonetheless expect to see a rebound in growth in 2013 andbeyond, with growth picking up towards the latter half of the year in particular. This return to growth willbe driven by low base effects and a number of large multilateral-funded infrastructure projects, with BMIforecasting an increase in industry value of 6.2%.However, we remain cautious in our outlook given the pervading political risks present within thecountry. ...
