With one of West Africa''s most developed consumer sectors, Cameroon''s economy has performed steadilyover the past decade. Real GDP growth averaged 3% between 2005 and 2011. Per capita GDP of about US$1,300 and a relatively well-developed food and drink industry suggest that Cameroon is further along thanmany other regional economies.Indicators such as per capita beer consumption, at about 26 litres, support the view that Cameroon''s foodand drink industry is relatively well developed. Across much of Sub-Saharan Africa this figure is betweenfive and 15 litres. Across a lot of West Africa the growth dynamics in food and fast-moving consumergoods are very similar....
