BMI View: Nuclear and thermal electricity generation still poses the biggest threat to the expansion of the renewables sector in Taiwan, and we have maintained our overall non-hydropower renewable electricity generation forecasts. However a number of non-Taiwanese renewables companies are looking to invest in the country's burgeoning renewables production industries and the government maintains its emphasis on the importance of developing the renewables industry further. In light of these factors, our renewables forecasts have been maintained. We maintain our forecast that non-hydropower renewable energy generation in Taiwan will grow by 4.9% year-on-year in 2013.
